Cab driver once more round the block, Never mind the ticket or the clock.

Very nostalgic and catchy tune from 1968 --  I don't think anyone will ever sing such a tribute to UBER-- & could UBER handle such a special trip as is described in the song ? Would the lovesick fellow be properly insured ?

Cab driver drive by Mary's place,
I just wanna chance to see her face.
I hope God to meet her any place,
Cab driver drive by Mary's place.

Cab driver once more round the block,
Never mind the ticket or the clock.
I only wish we could have had a talk,
Cab driver once more round the block.

Cab driver once more down her street,
There's a little place we use to meet.
That's where I laid my future at her feet,
Cab driver once more down her street.

Cab driver take care by her door,
I just want to hold her in my arms once more.
And then maybe just like we were before,
Cab driver take care by her door.

Cab driver you better take me home,
I guess that I was meant to be alone.
I hope God gives me a lover of my own,
Cab driver you better take me home.

Cab driver you better take me home,
Cab driver you better take me home.

Taxi: The Tribute

It wasn't long time ago that our friends Vlad Panov and Jennavive Jackson came to our headquarters at Taxidepot to tell us about their film project Taxi: The Tribute.

It was a nice surprise they just didn't want to interview me about my checkercab times but to include me on the film, that was priceless.

This short film pays tribute not only to one of the greatest sitcoms of the late 70s/early 80s, but also to the historic Checker cabs which became a symbol of New York ever since it's first appearance.

Starring Will Cooper, Jennavive Jackson, Bill Goffi and Vlad Panov.

Cinematography by Joseph Rios

Executive producer Jennavive Jackson

Music by Bob James

Directed and edited by Vlad Panov.
